the why

This Idea

  • Height; provides a tall display stand to make the back row of your dessert table stand out
  • Large events; donut bars are an easy way to feed large numbers with a filling treat
  • Stand alone; can be set up in a different location to offer guests an interim snack to tide them over until the dessert table opens
  • Congestion; allows guests to โ€˜grab and goโ€™ to reduce lines and congestion around the dessert table
  • Decor; turn the donuts themselves into part of the theming and decor
  • Visibility; tall / tabletop decor is easier to see when room is full of people
  • Elevates; makes simple, everyday, store-bought, or filler treats more attractive
  • Space saving; allows you to serve larger quantities with fewer serving trays
  • Dramatic; makes a big and bold impression to wow guests
  • Memorable; guests remember creative, unusual, or unexpected elements
  • Unusual; a less common dessert table display stand to impress guests
  • Inexpensive; value range versions available for those on a tight budget
  • Re-usable; can be kept and reused for future events

the why

dessert table display stands

  • Height; prevents your dessert table looking flat, lifeless, and underwhelming
  • Groups; displaying one type of treat per stand gives your dessert table a stylish, defined, and well-ordered look
  • Rows; arranging treats in rows lends a slick, modern, and professional appearance
  • Levels; different levels make the eye work harder to take everything in, resulting in exploration, discovery, and surprise
  • Visual Spectacle; a variety of different display stands, risers, serving trays, and containers prevents your dessert table looking dull and monotonous

ADVICE FROM A PRO

Matt’s tip

Matt James professional event planner

“With value range versions available for around $3 each, these tower-style donut stands are a cheap and easy way to add some creative presentation to your dessert table display.

I always prefer to arrange one donut color per vertical stack; it just lends a more clean, stylish, and contemporary look to the display. It also helps identify and separate different flavors.

Alternatively, alternating between two different complimentary colors on each stand can also give a nice candy-stripe effect. Especially if you keep one color the same on all stands, e.g pink alternating with white on one stand, gold alternating with white on the next, brown alternating with white on another etc.

To finish the display, pick up a printable โ€˜Donut Barโ€™ sign inviting guests to help themselves, an illustrated โ€˜Donut Menuโ€™ sign to indicate which flavor is which, or a wood script ‘Donut Bar’ sign (pictured below).โ€
