ADVICE FROM A PRO
Matt’s tip
“Height, or rather, varying degrees of height are essential to a well-designed dessert table. Nothing looks worse than when serving trays and containers are just laid out on the table. It looks flat, lifeless, and underwhelming.
These acrylic food stands are a great way to add multiple levels to your dessert table and create a modern, stylish, and professional-looking display.
I recommend positioning them towards the back of your dessert table and mirroring them on the outside ends.ย This creates a visual balance by โanchoringโ or โframingโ the display.
Then, treat each stand / riser as a cascading level using different height treats / containers stepping down from back to front.
For example,ย on the highest standย at the back you might serve desserts in taller treat containers, such asย disposable martini glasses,ย milk bottles,ย mason jars,ย disposable shooter glasses, or onย tasting forksย standing vertically.
On the next stand down, use slightly shorter treat containers, such asย disposable dessert cups,ย mini coffee mugs,ย disposable mini tasting bowls,ย treat cups, or individual treats with a little height, such as cupcakes.
Then on the lowest stands, use treats / containers with the least height, such asย disposable mini tasting plates,ย skewersย orย treat conesย laid flat, bite-size treats onย tasting spoonsย orย novelty mini trays and containers, or smaller treats, such as macarons, brownies, tarts, and pies.”
