Why Your Invitations Need to Be Personal, Creative, or Unusual

ADVICE FROM A PRO
Matt’s tip

“Despite most of the example pictures featuring portraits of children, I think this idea works just as well for adult birthday, graduation, or retirement parties.
Typically, when customizing party supplies, I recommend using cute, funny, or embarrassing old photos of the guest of honor – to make it more entertaining for guests to see them at different stages of their life.
For this one, though, I’d go the other way and use a proper, current photo. Watercolor invitations are more sophisticated than a novelty item, so a classic portrait suits the style far better than an old embarrassing one — and it means guests end up with something they can save as a keepsake, not laugh at once and put away.
If you opt for the digital artwork version, you can simplify the print process by emailing the finished artwork to this online printer who’ll print and ship the finished invites to you.
