Why Your Invitations Need to Be Personal, Creative, or Unusual

ADVICE FROM A PRO
Matt’s tip

“Ordinarily, I wouldn’t recommend sending out a themed invitation and then not following through with that theme at the event. However, in this case I think it’s perfectly fine.
These invitations are not really intended to tell guests that you’re having a horror, fantasy, or sci-fi themed wedding (although you could). They’re more about a Bride & Groom bucking the conventions of traditional weddings, expressing their personalities, and telling guests ‘we’re going to do things our way!’; don’t expect pretty white flowers, a meringue princess dress, or a boring old vanilla buttercream cake.
And I’ll bet you anything that most guests will look forward to this wedding a lot more than any other they’re invited to — because who knows what else you’re going to surprise them with.
So, it’s less about a theme and more about the approach: subverting expectations and doing things your way. Carry that same spirit through every other aspect of your wedding — a creative twist or personal touch wherever you can. That’s what will tie everything together and make it your own.
And remember, these creative designs aren’t just limited to weddings. The seller is happy to adapt designs to other occasions, such as birthdays, engagements, or anniversaries.
