  • Alternatively, split the total number of fans over several photos showing the guest of honor at different stages of their life

“Choose a forward facing, well-lit, head only, high resolution (300dpi) photo.

If you want to use old printed photos, have these scanned at a local printer using a flat bed scanner (not a document scanner used at office supply stores).

Alternatively, if you want to transfer more old prints to digital format this can be done very inexpensively nowadays ($20-$30 for 100 photos, link below) and it’s a great opportunity to preserve them for years to come.

Just double check that the service-provider offers high-resolution scans. Most do as standard.

Similarly, old photos that are fading, discolored, or damaged can often be restored at the same time (see link below).”
