advice from a pro

eye-catching dessert table treats

  • Rather than trying to decorate an entire room or venue,
  • I recommend concentrating the majority of your party decorations around a dessert table and building out from there.
  • This creates a focal point in the room that guests’ eyes will be drawn to.
  • It also means the food styling and presentation becomes part of room decor,
  • working together to create a larger display and amplifying the overall effect.
  • That’s why I recommend devoting at least 10% of your menu to some eye-catching dessert table treats.
  • These treats are less about feeding people and more about adding some visual flair and wow-factor.
  • So it doesn’t matter too much what the treats are, so much as how they look.
  • People eat with their eyes first,
  • so you want to grab their attention,
  • peak their curiosity,
  • and draw them in with some elegant, stylish, visually-arresting, or even outlandish treats,
  • that will encourage them to explore.
  • Combine these with some of my Creative Dessert Table Presentation Ideas and Dessert Table Display Ideas,
  • and you’ll create a feast for the eyes,
  • that guests will discuss, photograph, share, and remember.
