ADVICE FROM A PRO
Matt’s tip
“Height, or rather, varying degrees of height are essential to a well-designed dessert table. Nothing looks worse than when serving trays and containers are just laid out on the table. It looks flat, lifeless, and underwhelming.
These wood food risers and stands are a great way to add multiple levels to your dessert table and create a natural, rustic, and professional-looking display.
I recommend positioning them towards the back of your dessert table and mirroring them on the outside ends. This creates a visual balance by โanchoringโ or โframingโ the display.
Then, treat each tier as a cascading level using different height treats / containers stepping down from back to front.
For example, on the highest tier at the back you might serve desserts in taller treat containers, such as disposable martini glasses, milk bottles, mason jars, disposable shooter glasses, or on tasting forks standing vertically.
On the next tier down, use slightly shorter treat containers, such as disposable dessert cups, mini coffee mugs, disposable mini tasting bowls, treat cups, or individual treats with a little height, such as cupcakes.
Then on the lowest tier, use treats / containers with the least height, such as disposable mini tasting plates, skewers or treat cones laid flat, bite-size treats on tasting spoons or novelty mini trays and containers, or smaller treats, such as macarons, brownies, tarts, and pies.”
