ADVICE FROM A PRO
Matt’s tip
“Creating entire floor-to-ceiling paper flower party backdrops, like some of the images on this page, can prove costly. So it’s worth getting a little creative to try to reduce the number of flowers needed.
Firstly, if you’re looking to create a backdrop for a dessert / buffet table or bar, there’s no need to have flowers go all the way down to the floor, as these will just be hidden behind the table.
Instead, create a rectangular panel of flowers on the wall that runs the length of the bar / table and fills the area from the tabletop to the ceiling. Or you can reduce the quantity even further by centering this rectangular panel on the wall behind, leaving an equal sized border both above and below the panel.
Alternatively, personalize your flower wall with a custom name sign (check out my round-up of creative party signs here or preview some in the images below) then create a ‘cut out’ space in the center of the flower wall for the sign (as in the ‘Ultimate Women’s Expo’ image above) which can further reduce the number of flowers needed.
If you’re crafty, check out the tutorials and flower templates below to make them yourself.
Or consider using the lower-cost tissue paper flower alternatives (see links below) as shown the colorful ‘Ultimate Women’s Expo’ photo near the top of this page.”
