Photo Beer Labels

the idea

Entertain guests by customizing beer bottles with cute, funny, or embarrassing old photos of the guest of honor.

Three beer bottles with red "Grown-Up Bottle, Happy 21st BDAY!" labels printed with the same family photo and "Joshua Angelito, 2016"
Three beer bottles with Father's Day photo labels reading "Love" and "Here's to Dad, Cheers," printed with family photos including a dad on an arcade ride with kids

the how

  • Customization. Submit a clear photo when you order, plus any text you want: a name, date, or short brewing-style line like “Brewed in 1986,” and your color preferences.
  • Format. Options available for 12oz and 22oz bottles or 12oz and 16oz cans.
  • Quantities. Six-pack sets, or bulk packs starting at 6 and running up to 200, depending on the seller.
  • Materials. Waterproof, abrasion-resistant vinyl that won’t run or peel once the bottle starts sweating with condensation.
  • Setup. Peel and stick directly onto a clean, dry bottle or can.
  • Lead times. Design proof within 1 to 2 business days. Production takes about 3 business days after approval. Standard shipping adds 2 to 5 days.

the why

WHY This Idea?

  • Entertaining; lets guests see the guest of honor at different stages of their life that they might never have seen before
  • Light-hearted; a warm way to celebrate the guest of honor that shows they don’t take themselves too seriously
  • Photo-worthy; a personalized label on every bottle is exactly the kind of detail guests want to photograph
  • Talking point; gives guests something to discuss, creating buzz and atmosphere
  • Creative twist; adds a personal, unexpected element to something as ordinary as a beer.
  • Inexpensive; a cost-effective idea that won’t blow your budget
Three wedding beer bottles labeled "TnA Amber Ale Attack, Taylor & Adam," each printed with the same photo of the couple toasting
Three beer bottles with a punny "2324 Beers, Hugh Jale, a brotherly ale" label featuring a gray-haired man sticking his tongue out

the why

Why Your Party Drinks Deserve More Attention

  • Always in hand; guests hold a drink for most of the party, so it’s one of the more visible and easily overlooked opportunities to add a personal touch
  • Presentation over complexity; thoughtful presentation — a nice glass, a garnish, a simple styling touch — is often more memorable than an elaborate cocktail most guests won’t appreciate
  • Attention to detail; it’s the clever little details — not the drink itself — that guests photograph, share, and remember
  • Budget-smart; it’s worth spending a little more to make the first drink memorable, then ease into simpler, cheaper pours for the rest of the evening
Two beer bottles with black "Grad" labels printed with a graduation photo and "Melissa Nguyen, Class of 2025"
Three beer bottles labeled "Sibling Specialty" and "Business Brew, Happy 21st BDAY!" printed with a childhood sibling photo and a formal portrait

ADVICE FROM A PRO

Matt’s tip

Matt James professional event planner

“These work best with a cute, funny, or slightly embarrassing photo from years ago: an awkward school photo, a bad haircut, an outfit that hasn’t aged well.

Place a few smaller orders instead of one big one, so you can use two or three different photos of the guest of honor at different stages of their life rather than the same one throughout. A baby photo next to their wedding day photo, lined up together on the bar, grabs guests’ attention and creates curiosity.

Skip the default birthday text for something with more personality: “The Man, The Myth, The Legend” for a milestone birthday, “Drunk in Love” for a wedding or anniversary, or “Not Just a Pretty Face” for a graduation. Check out my full list of creative occasion phrases here for more ideas.

If you need to transfer old printed photos to a digital format, this can be done very inexpensively nowadays ($20-$30 for 100 photos) and it’s a great opportunity to preserve them for years to come. Similarly, old photos that are fading, discolored, or damaged can often be restored at the same time. See links below.”
